Scotch whiskey is a distillate produced only in Scotland.

It is produced and distilled in isolated and wild places, usually in the open countryside or on the banks of lakes and streams, and acquires different characteristics according to the production region.

We can find it in Central America and South America, but also in Asia, in the islands of the Indian Ocean, Australia and in southern Spain.

The type of rum produced depends a lot on the distillation technique: broadly speaking, we can say that the heaviest rums are usually produced in pot stills, while column stills produce lighter rums.
