Whisky Glen Keith 1995
Glen Keith was founded in 1957 by Chivas Brothers. It is located in the beautiful Speyside town of Keith. Its history is significant, full of innovation and experimentation. In the 1970s, after a successful first decade of production, the distillery expanded from two to five stills. These pot stills were the first to be gas fired in Scotland. A sixth still was installed in 1983, completing the series of stills still in use. In 1999 the distillery was mothballed. It lay dormant for over a decade, until a large-scale renovation began in 2012. It was reopened in 2013, with production capacity increased from 3.5 million liters to 6 million. Most of the single malt produced at the site is still used in blends owned by Chivas Brothers.
Glen Keith uses unpeated malts in his brew.
The Glen Keith distillery is experimental from the beginning and produces a delicate and fruity whisky.
This is a 24-year-old Glen Keith single malt distilled in 1995 and matured in a single ex-bourbon hogshead for more than two decades, before being bottled in September 2020. It is an example of elegance and freshness in pure Speyside style.
Only 271 bottles were produced from barrel number 171251. This whisky has not undergone cold filtration and has not been adulterated with the addition of colorings, aromas or sugars.
