A single-cask rum from Diamond distillery in Guyana, distilled in their Versailles Wooden Pot still. Aged for 18 years with a continental ageing, matured in an ex-bourbon barrel and finished in ex-oloroso sherry cask, this rum is a special bottle for any collection. The Versailles Still is one of only two of its kind left. The ancient still is over 250 years old and still produces a very unique style of rum similar to its humble origins at the Versailles estate: it incorporates a historic cylindrical wooden body a neck of copper swan. The combination of the interaction of native woods with alcoholic sugars and the reflux from the copper still results in a very heavy bodied distillate, ideal for creating their distinctive feature of robust, flavoured and aromatic Demerara rums.
The outturn of cask no. 1710671 is 218 bottles and during the bottling No chill filtering, no colourings, no added sugar or flavourings was carried on
